Physical Therapy is provided as part of SIGMA Home Health Care’s services to prevent further physical debility, assist the patient in adapting to a disability and/or restoring him/her to their highest level of functioning. Our therapists will provide a comprehensive evaluation of the patient’s physical needs and establish a physical therapy plan. All therapy plans are individualized and tailored to each patients’ current needs and goals. The primary focus of our Physical therapists is to enhance the patients’ functional abilities in their home environment relative to their primary illness. Exercises and treatment include working on range of motion, physical strength, coordination, and endurance. Our therapists can recommend adaptations to make the home accessible and safe, teaching position transfers, and ambulatory skills. Educating patients on these skills allows them to return to a comfortable and productive life even if the problem still persists.
